🚨 SCAM ALERT: “Notice of Recording” Letters 🚨

We’re seeing these letters sent to homeowners claiming a “recording” on your property and requesting a fee (in this case, $285).

👉 This is NOT a bill.
👉 This is NOT required.
👉 This has NOTHING to do with your trust or deed setup.

These companies are offering optional “title monitoring” services and making it look urgent or official.

✔️ The reality:

  • This is a solicitation, not a government notice

  • You are under no obligation to pay

  • Your county may offer similar monitoring services for FREE

For example, Strafford County provides resources here:
https://www.nhdeeds.org/strafford-county/

‍ ‍

While title fraud is a real (but rare) issue—especially for vacant land or mortgage-free properties—you do not need to pay hundreds of dollars per year for this type of monitoring.

‍ ‍

If you ever receive something like this and aren’t sure, reach out to our office before paying anything.

‍ ‍

Stay cautious and share this to help others avoid being misled.
